Random Questions

I don't generally do these sort of things but my sister had it on her blog and I thought I'd give it a go...

1. What time did you go to bed last night and were you alone?
I crawled into bed sometime around 1:30 AM and switched off the tv around 2:30 to go to sleep...And yes, Cody works nights so I was alone.

2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be?
All my debts paid off so I could just make money to spend on what I want!

3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why?
I watch A LOT of movies these days so I could probably give a few answers but the most recent film I watched that I really liked was called "Never Let Me Go". It is about kids who are cloned and raised specifically to donate their organs when they are around their 20's. A boy and girl fall in love and try to find a way to put off their donations so they can be together longer. It is not your typical movie and might fall under the category of special interest-or artsy- but it was really interesting to watch and hard for me to wrap my head around the idea of it all. And it was full of emotion and made me cry.

4. What is your favourite TV show of all time ie you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it?
FRIENDS- within 30 seconds of an episode being on, no matter where in the episode, I can almost always tell you exactly what happens and probably quote some part of it. Although How I Met Your Mother is a close second!

5. Whats your favourite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do?
My favourite way to wake up is with the sunlight streaming in the window because I HATE waking up in the dark..which makes winter super long for me...and the first thing I do? ...I pee!

6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name?
Awesome...that's it...no last name, just, Awesome

7. If you had to do a bushtucker challenge (you have to eat insects/grubs etc) what would be the worst thing you had to eat?
Insects and bugs! Couldn't do it, I'd rather starve

8. Whats the worst/most embarassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it?
The most embarrassing album I owned is a cassette tape of me and my good friend Erin Singing along with the Backstreet Boys and adding our own interpretations to it...and yes, I'm pretty sure if I looked long enough I would find it somewhere in my boxes of things!

11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself?
This is a hard question because one of my favourite characteristics about myself is also the one that sometimes is the worst, and that is I am very, very independent.

12. Your favourite item of clothing and why?
A large oversized shirt- not a nightgown-but a really big shirt that's long enough to cover everything because its comfy and not at all restricting-except for that fact that this is just for lounging around the house!  and SHOES!

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with?
I would love to go to England with my dad. And travel all of Europe with Paige. And I would love to go to Jamaica, Fiji, Australia...ok everywhere really...with Cody!

14. If you could have any animal/creature, What would be your ultimate pet be?
     I want an Ewok.

15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be?
Oh I am pretty sure my plans changed every day as they still do but I remember wanting to be a surgeon for a long time...and no I won't be a surgeon anytime soon.

16. Whats the next planned event you're looking to in your life?
A vacation! Hopefully! To Edmonton to FINALLY meet little Quinn and home to see our families and meet Fin!

17. What were you doing before you started this?
     Shopping!

18. What was the last thing you ate that you really shouldnt of ?
Does it count if I'm currently eating it?? -Haribo Tangfastic 5 cent candies...

19. If you were an ice cream flavour what would you be?
Oooh, good question...I would be Reese's Peanut Butter Cup with Pecans

20. Who was the last person you spoke to that you didnt want to talk to?
Probably a customer or patient...no one in particular.

21. What was your favourite toy as a child?
     My doll Molly?? Maybe?

22. When was the last time you cried laughing and why?
While I was cutting Cody's hair a couple nights ago because he has the craziest, thickest, curliest hair and I had no idea what I was doing so I would just pick random chunks of hair and snip away hoping it would turn out even. I couldn't stop laughing while cutting it, which I'm sure was really reassuring to him!

23. What is stashed under your bed/mattress?
I think there is one of Ruby's toys and probably a stray sock or two.

24. What did you dream about last night?
I remember having a dream but I really don't remember what it was about.

25. What are you really afraid of?
I have a love/hate feeling for Sharks because they scare the crap out of me but completely fascinate me. I am afraid of all sea animals really, even dolphins. And I am afraid of all characters in every horror movie...

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

February 14 has always been one of my favourite days of the year. I love that it is a day to celebrate, well, LOVE! And let's be honest, I'll use any excuse to get flowers! And here are the bunch I got this year!...

This picture doesn't do the roses justice...they are probably some of the nicest roses I've gotten.

This year I sent Cody on a treasure hunt around the house and decorated the bedroom with sticky notes listing all the thing I love about him. What can I say, I'm a romantic!

Along with my flowers Cody was awesome and got me a move bundle for our playstation. I'm excited to give it a try. It looks like so much fun!

Yesterday I decided to make a fun treat to take to work today to keep the spirit of the holiday. I decided to give those cake pops a try that can be found at bakerella.com! This is how they turned out!

They were fun to make and were a big hit at work. I was pretty impressed with how they turned out considering it was my first time, although I couldn't figure out how to make my edible pens work! But I think they are definately something I will make again!

Now to finish off this romantic holiday I think I will order myself a heart shaped pizza from boston pizza! I hope everyone had a great day and spoiled each other!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELDER SCOTT!!

Just a quick birthday shout out to my awesome brother Elder Scott, aka Steve! I am a little late as his birthday was yesterday but I wanted to let everyone know how amazing he is and how much I love the kid! Steve is currently serving a mission in Toronto and is doing awesome! It's so fun to hear about his adventures every week and all the wonderful work he is doing. I miss him a ton! But I am very proud of him and appreciate the wonderful example he is to me and all of our family.

Here is a picture of Elder Scott with what I imagine we would have had to eat to celebrate his birthday, one of his favorites, SKOR CAKE!

I hope he had an awesome day and was able to celebrate. He is now over his halfway mark and as happy as I am that he is out serving the Lord, I am looking forward to the countdown to seeing him again. I Love you Elder Scott! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

#1 Husband

The past few days have been real rough for me. I have been in a lot of pain while trying to pass these kidney stones, which I'm still working on, and Cody has been so awesome through it all so this is a big thank you to him!

CODY, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR...

  • Being patient and kind
  • Filling my prescriptions and making all those trips to the pharmacy when they didn't have the medication
  • Bringing me magazines to keep me busy
  • Buying me flowers (that still smell so yummy!)
  • Bringing me Buster the Get-Well Bear!
  • Staying home from work to take care of me and keep me company
  • Making me go back to the ER and patiently waiting all afternoon while I was drugged up on morphine and having my x-ray and ultrasound done
  • Keeping my water bottle filled and reminding me to drink up
  • Rubbing my back and laying with me when the pain was really bad
  • Encouraging me and reminding me that it will all be over soon
  • Loving me and always putting me first

I am so grateful to have a husband who cares about me and puts my needs before his own. I am still on the road to recovery as there are multiple stones in both my kidneys and I have no worries because I know that Cody will be there with me 100% at all times. With any luck though those other stones won't be big enough to bother me. I know kidney stones are not life threatening and there are worse things that could happen but believe me when I tell you that the pain is beyond extreme!  It is definately not like anything else I have ever experienced.

Cody,

 I LOVE YOU!
