Swim Lessons and Everything Else

Today was Brady's first swim lesson! It was lots of fun. We learned to blow some bubbles, sang songs and Brady went under the water for the first time! I have been a bit unsure of dunking him under the water but he loved it! He's definitely a little swimmer!

We have been going swimming a lot lately. Every Tuesday and Thursday there are baby and me aquafit classes at the pool and I try to go as often as I can. It's fun because I can get a good workout and Brady gets to sit in a little fish boat and float around in the water. He enjoys every minute of it. And now we get to go to his swim lessons twice a week. And then we try to go swimming on weekends so Daddy can get in on the fun. I want to take some pictures at the pool but I keep forgetting to sneak my camera in.

We have been lucky to get a bit of a break in the cold weather here so we have been taking full advantage of it by going on lots of walks. I can't wait for spring when we won't have to get so bundled up and can walk up to the park! It's only a block away and has a spray park so I imagine we will be spending a lot of time there this summer!

Last weekend we went out to the Winter Play festival out on the river Snye. They had skating, snowboard demonstrations, snow and ice sculptures and other things there. It was actually pretty lame but a nice excuse to get outside. This is one of the sculptures they had there. Some of them were pretty impressive.

I am definitely ready for some warmer weather! It will be so nice to not have to get Brady all dressed up whenever we go out. He is starting to get some pretty crazy hair, usually after he's been wearing his toque. Here's a few pictures of what happens after I pull his hat off...

I'm afraid he's going to have hair like Cody, super out of control. But for the most part it reminds me of my Dad's hair because it naturally combs over to the side like his. Brady is starting to get bigger and bigger every day. He still hate sleeping and has a hard time doing so at night. But other than during the night he is always such a good little boy and so happy. He LOVES to give kisses. He used to only give me big open mouth kisses but has now started trying to kiss everyone. At book babies on Friday he kept trying to grab whichever kid, boy or girl, was close to him and pulling them in with his mouth open and ready! The first little boy he did it to was our friend Harrison and everyone thought it was so cute and then later on he tried kissing a little girl and she starting crying. And then when we got home he spent a good 15 minutes trying to kiss the kid on the huggies box haha. It was pretty funny. He's one loving little boy!

Brady is enjoying his solid foods and almost refuses most purees now. He wants to eat things that he can either feed himself or that he can chew on. He still doesn't have any teeth so I imagine part of it is that it feels good on his gums.

I like to get him all dressed up for church because its so cute! But he's starting to get to be a handful and by the time its relief society he's pretty restless.

He still thinks bath time is the best and is starting to have more fun playing with his toys. He splashes and flips around like its nothing and I'm usually soaking by the end. But it's lots of fun!

Brady loves to play with his toys. He is starting to actually play with them instead of just holding them up and looking at them. He has a carousel toy that someone gave us and when you push the top down it spins around so he just likes to sit there and hit it over and over again. He also loves to stand next to his music table and play all the different instruments on it.

Brady isn't quite full on crawling yet but is really good at rolling and spinning around the whole house. He can get anywhere he wants to. Just on Saturday though he started to pull himself forward a little bit so I imagine he will be crawling by next week. I guess it's time to invest in some baby gates.

Cody is still working days and we love it! He is about to start a new shift sometime soon so he will be done work at 4PM and have 4 days off at a time. I think it's going to be so nice! We will be able to have dinner earlier and still enjoy an evening afterwards. I am looking forward to that.

I only have 3.5 months left on mat leave and I'm not really looking forward to going back, but I don't think I'll be working a whole lot. It is pretty hard to find day care up here so I will probably work sometimes when Cody is off. But I am sure enjoying my time off with my baby boy!

Mad because I wanted to take pictures and he wanted to go play
