What a day...

Today has been just one of those days...

This is Ruby. She looks about how she was feeling this morning. She used to get frequent seizures but we found out her kidneys were not doing so well and put her on a diet and she hasn't had one for about 7 months. This morning however I went to take her outside and she stopped mid stride, fell over and peed all over her leg. She was seizing. Poor girl, she was doing so well. Hopefully it doesn't start happening a lot.

A couple hours later I headed into work and about 30 minutes after I got there I suddenly got a stabbing searing pain in the side of my back. It was the same pain I experienced just a couple days ago that woke me up and lasted all morning. This time it was about 20 times worse and I couldn't move. One of my co-workers made me go see a doctor in emerg, one of the perks of working in the hospital I guess. After a much needed shot of toradol in my hip and some blood work they decided on the culprit...

A KIDNEY STONE!

So for the next few days I will be drinking lots of cranberry juice, taking some drugs and urinating into a strainer to try and get the little guy out. I also have to go for an ultrasound just to be sure this is the real deal.

Wish me luck, I hear the pain can be worse than labor!

Why Dinosaurs Are Extinct...

Just thought I'd share this comedic view on why dinosaurs are extinct...it made me smile!

Snowboarding!

Today Cody and I decided to start a new hobby. We are now Canada's next pro snowboarder's in the making! We got some new gear and headed out to the hill. Cody used to board a lot when he was younger and hasn't done it for a while but he was able to get going like no time had passed. He was patient enough to teach me and to wait for me to slowly inch my way down the hill. But I must say I was catching on pretty good!

\

This is us at the ski hill...it was after a few runs hence I look like I'm about to keel over. It was a lot of fun and we are excited to go back probably tomorrow.

Also for those who like Make-It Monday, Cody and I had these things at a restaurant up here called pizza rolls and decided to try to recreate them here at home. They are very easy. All you need are egg roll wraps, pizza sauce, pepporoni, and cheese. Put all the pizza stuff in the egg roll and seal it up. We double wrapped ours just to make sure they didn't explode. Then you toss them in the deep fryer and cook them up til they are nice and brown! They are delicious!

I am my father's daughter...

Lately I have been catching myself whistling the same tune over and over again without realizing it and I have to tell myself to stop...Just like my dad has done my whole life. I really am my father's daughter!
