Cody's Winter Fur

This winter Cody thought it would be fun to grow out his facial hair all winter. A couple weeks ago we, mostly me, decided it was close enough to spring that he could shave it off. He was kind of sad to see it go but had a lot of fun creating different looks while he shaved it off. These are the pictures of him going from a full beard back to the clean shaven man I thought I'd never see again!

Mini-vacation

This past week I got to take a little trip down to Edmonton to see these two cuties!

Dex is Jacie's little boy, who is not so little anymore! I can't believe he is already 1 year old. He is a busy boy and has a ton of energy but is so much fun.  And on the right is Erin's little girl Quinn! She is adorable and a really good baby. I was so happy I got to go visit and meet her! I also had the opportunity to be at Quinn's baby blessing on Sunday. Tyler did such a great job and gave a beautiful blessing.

While I was in Edmonton I had lots of time to spend with Erin and Jace and I also got to meet up with Janna for lunch who I had not seen for a very long time. She also has a brand new little baby boy Balian who is super cute too! It was a ton of fun to catch up and just sit around chatting with all the girls. Thanks for a fun mini-vacation! I wish I lived closer so I could come see you all more often!

The City With Only One Road

Fort McMurray, one way in and one way out. Only one road that goes all the way through the city. On the map above I live at the very top near those green things and as you can see,  that one road is also the only road that I can get from my house to any other part of the city and back home again so, when I got off work tonight at midnight from the hospital (which is in the cluster in the middle of the map) and that one road was completely blocked off north bound to let a wide load go through, I had to backtrack south all the way to the bottom of the map (about 5 minutes) and wait in the Shell gas station parking lot until it cleared up. Traffic was at a dead halt and did not move an inch for almost 45 minutes. Good times. This one road often gets blocked up with wide loads and accidents on the bridge (which you can see crossing the river just above the cluster in the middle). It should take me 10 minutes to get to work yet, this city is so busy that when I start work at 7:30 AM I have to leave by 6:40 at the absolute LATEST if I want to be there on time. But I shouldn't complain, at least I don't have to ride a bus every day for 2-3 hours like Cody!

BUT...at least we get to see these every once in a while...and they sure look really awesome!
