Chinooks

These past few days I have realized that one of the things I miss the most about living in southern Alberta are the Chinooks. Down there the snow comes and goes and comes and goes and it gets warm sometimes during winter. Here in Fort McMurray the snow comes, and stays, and stays and never leaves, and once it gets cold, it stays cold all winter long! It makes winter feel about 14x longer than it is, even though it has been a pretty mild winter this year. Luckily Spring is coming and the weather is starting to get warmer and the days longer! I can't wait!

In other news I am 23 weeks pregnant and my baby is already 1.7 pounds! I think it might be a big one! And hopefully a bit early...We were able to go to Edmonton for a few days this past week and got some of the big items we need for the baby.

These are our carseat and crib that we bought. We are both really excited about them. These are just pictures off the internet but once the nursery is together I will put some real pictures up. But for now we couldn't fit the crib in our car so it is still currently in Edmonton until we can take the truck to pick it up! Only 16.5 weeks left!

  1. Ahh! Chinooks, but sometimes you just hate the wind because it won't quit blowing. Yes it's been pretty warm down here this past week, but miserably windy! And the wind this year feels cold. Ahh winter!
Looks like you're getting excited! We're very happy for you both and think about grandchild #12 often.
