The Hunger Games

Today I am wishing I lived closer to one of my sisters or friends who has read The Hunger Games. I could use someone who has read the books to come see the movie with me in 5 days! How much would you judge me if I went to the 11:00 PM premier showing of it Thursday night by myself?

Chinooks

These past few days I have realized that one of the things I miss the most about living in southern Alberta are the Chinooks. Down there the snow comes and goes and comes and goes and it gets warm sometimes during winter. Here in Fort McMurray the snow comes, and stays, and stays and never leaves, and once it gets cold, it stays cold all winter long! It makes winter feel about 14x longer than it is, even though it has been a pretty mild winter this year. Luckily Spring is coming and the weather is starting to get warmer and the days longer! I can't wait!

In other news I am 23 weeks pregnant and my baby is already 1.7 pounds! I think it might be a big one! And hopefully a bit early...We were able to go to Edmonton for a few days this past week and got some of the big items we need for the baby.

                                

These are our carseat and crib that we bought. We are both really excited about them. These are just pictures off the internet but once the nursery is together I will put some real pictures up. But for now we couldn't fit the crib in our car so it is still currently in Edmonton until we can take the truck to pick it up! Only 16.5 weeks left!

No Use Crying Over It!

Last night I hit a milestone in my pregnancy and this cartoon explains it perfectly. I had my first unnecessary hormonal breakdown. At about 11:30 PM I was pretty hungry and decided to cook up some of my favourite Sidekick noodles that I had been wanting for a few days. I only had one package in my pantry and just as I was about to pour them into the boiling milk and water I tragically lost my grip and spilled all the uncooked noodles onto the floor. As they were falling I yelled NOOO! but it was too late. Cody was in the basement when it happened and came running when he heard them crashing to the floor and me screaming only to find me staring at the floor in tears. It was so sad. Cody gave me a hug and holding back laughter told me everything would be alright. I realized I was losing it over the most silly thing and started laughing uncontrollably. I couldn't stop laughing and crying. It really felt like the worst had happened! I now understand what people mean when they say pregnant women can sometimes be a little CRAZY!

For the past few days I have been seriously considering using these on my baby...

CLOTH DIAPERS!

 I would like to say the main reason I'd like to use them is because they are environmentally friendly, or because it saves a lot of money, but to be completely honest I first decided to start looking into them because they are sooo cute! I think they are adorable and they come in so many different patterns and colours!
The more I research them the more I want to try using them. Everything I read says it really isn't that much extra work these days and it really does save a ton of money. I was wondering if anyone has used them and what they think! So if you have any feedback please comment!

Our New Chair

Today we went shopping with the sole intent to buy a chair for the baby room. This is what we came home with...

It is meant to go up in the baby room but I have a feeling it will probably end up in the living room. Either way we got an AWESOME deal on it and couldn't pass it up. Money well spent!
